What is the term for the dissolving medium in a solution? (1 point) solvent solute solvator emulsifier
2. Which of the following substances dissolves most readily in gasoline? (1 point) CH4 HCl NH3 NaBr 3. What type of compound is always an electrolyte? (1 point) polar covalent nonpolar covalent ionic network solid 4. Which of the following is NOT a common hydrate? (1 point) Epsom salt borax sugar alum 5. A crystal that absorbs water vapor from the air is _____. (1 point) aqueous deliquescent hygroscopic efflorescent
You should be able to answer these. The first is solute--a solvent is the substance in which the solute is being dissolved.
For number 2, consider the polarity of gasoline and remember that in most situations, "like dissolves like."
And an electrolyte is a sol'n which contains free-moving ions, so something that will break apart into ions will always be an electrolyte.
Not sure about 4. I believe 5 is hydroscopic.
hygro, lol
Hygroscopy is the ability of a substance to attract and hold water molecules from the surrounding environment <- is what Wikipedia says. Seems right.
@KinzaN lol im not that good at chemistry , thank you!! (:
You're welcome. ^^
