OpenStudy (emilyjones284):

what is the freezing point of a 1.25 m solution of CO2 dissolved in methanol (the freezing point is -60 degrees celcius and the freezing pt. depression constant is 2.55 degrees celcius/m)?

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

I found a similar problem that suggests the following: \[\Delta t_f = t_{pure} - t_{solution}\]\[t_{pure}=-60^\circ \text{C}\]\[\Delta t_f = K_f m\]\[m = 1.25\text{ m}\]\[K_f = 2.55^\circ \text{C/m}\]\[\Delta t_f = (2.55^\circ \text{C/m})(1.25 \text { m})\]\[t_{solution} = t_{pure}-\Delta t_f = -60^\circ\text{C} - (2.55^\circ \text{C/m})(1.25 \text { m}) = \] No warranty of suitability or correctness given or implied!
