OpenStudy (anonymous):

Why is it that when pressure and temperature is too high, chemical equilibrium can't be reached?

OpenStudy (abb0t):

increase in temperature affects the rate of reaction, and is the only means which can alter the constant, K. Similarly, if you increase or decrease temp, for instnace, of water, you might also be changing phases. Solid \(\rightarrow\) gas, or vice versa. Just think about that.
