Write the standard equation of the circle.
i am to the point of (x-2)^2+(y-2)^2=r^2 not i need to figure out where to go from here
What's r?
i have to find the x and y values to get r but on that graph its unclear exactly where the circle falls to give a value to give a value to them....
No. You don't need x and y. R is simply 5. From the graph.
ok you gotta explain where you see 5 at because im definitely not seeing that
Sorry not 5, but 4. I read wrong.
i still have to technically give a point and work the equation to prove it is 4 -_-
so i guess ill put (2,6)
ok yea that works
The radius is not a point. Its a line. |dw:1393621839427:dw|
thanks @Isaiah.Feynman :D
Good for you.
It looks like you found r=4 (by counting straight up from the center, for example) so the equation is \[ (x-2)^2 + (y-2)^2 = 16 \] as you can see, most of the points are hard to read off the graph, but 4 of them are easy: (-2,2), (2,6), (2,-2), (6,2) that you can use to show the equation is correct.
