How do I solve for letter c? i attached the problem below

OpenStudy (sachin00007):

i am not sure if it is the correct way to do it . if it is wrong can you pls tell the correct way net force =mass * acceleration tension force + friction +weight=mass *acceleration for m2 the tension force will be the same as the weight ( aplied force) and for m1 the tesion force will be in the opposite direction in the string you then make the "a" the subject for each mass

|dw:1393729457936:dw| I wonder, are there any other forces missing here?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Next step: set up our equations.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how about the friction on the 2.0 kg mass?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's there, you can make a separate arrow if you want.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh okay, lol sorry for the interruption :3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You should know the force of gravity will be \(m_1g\) and \(m_2g\) respectively. Do you know how to find the normal forces?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep is it equal to : \(F_g\ cos\ \theta\)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hmmm, not quite sure, let me think...

OpenStudy (anonymous):
