Can any one tell me how to separate hcl + water solution without adding any base.......????? try throwing an idea....

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

Evaporate the water out?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohh,.... very brilliant........... c'mon dude....... by evaporating it will getr conc. thats not the solution..... what you suggested is simple........ just make it complicated.... i want to spend 2 hours to understand your answer..... try for that......... and finally thanks for the consideration.........

OpenStudy (roadjester):

Are you trying to physically separate the solution? Or is a calculation sufficient? If the latter, I'd say, you can find the volume of the solution. You know the elements in the solution so from there you can use the Molality and possibly find what you're looking for?

OpenStudy (roadjester):

oh and Joanna is a woman's name =)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes , i wanna separate the solution (physically)....... and the thing is......... i got something (product of my experiment) in that water..... which has been mixed with acid........ if i did evaporate it ..... the solution become more conc. which makes the solution more acidic and degrades my product......... and if i addd any base the salt will make the same to my product....... so its kind of a situation........

OpenStudy (roadjester):

If you really have to, I'd say to start over..I never encountered such a problem when I took chemistry so I don't have the experience to tell you sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks for the reply bro....... this question is not yet closed......... anybody can through an idea.....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

insert sodium metal (usually supplied covered in oil to keep air and moisture away from metal, because it reacts exothermally, creates a lot of heat) the sodium reacts with cl (chlorine) of hcl creating nacl, as table salt, and free hydrogen as h2 gas. PS start small

OpenStudy (anonymous):

your question is not fair. Your SECRET PRODUCT

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hey @bfoote thanks for the reply..... but i think you did n"t read the question clearly..... I DONT WANT TO ADD ANY BASE IN MY SOLUTION THE SALT WILL DEGRADE THE PRODUCT........" so...... its not that simple..... you guys should thank me ..... for feeding your brain..... and hey,,,, the secret product is CURCUMIN. the esential component in turmeric powder.
