I just looked up Newton's Quotient on Wikipedia. The Newton's Quotient is just a special name for that fraction in the limit definition of a derivative.

Well with the definition of derivative we find the limit as h-the difference approaches 0 where with the difference quotient the difference will not necessarily be infinitesmal
