find the area of the image below 41 square units 44 square units 52 square units 56 square units
u can find the area of the above square and of the below triangle. and then add them up for ur answer
i dont understand may you explain please

side of square is 4 across and 4 down, so area of square = lenght x width = 4x4 =16
yea i have the square i just need help on the triangle
area of square = 4*4 = 16 area of triangle =1/2*5*10 =25 total area = 25+16 =41 sq. untis
base of triangle = 5 (assume right most side is base) height of triangle = 10 (assume top most side is height) right angles triangle so area = 1/2 x base x height
so 1/2 x 5 x 10 = 1/2 x 50 =25 so total area = 25 + 16 = 41
base is 5 height is 10 = 25
yess i got it thanks guys <3
all good, welcomes milli... <3 ;P
can you help with some more please?
aye lassie, fire away
Point X is located at (2, −6) and point Z is located at (0, 5). Find the y value for the point Y that is located one over five the distance from point X to point Z. −3.6 −3.8 −4 −4.2
length of the line = ?
|dw:1394115983088:dw|
|dw:1394116009565:dw|
so h^2 = a^2 + b^2
so im splitting it?
yep, into x and y so solve for h
i have to find the distance between both y coordinates right?
h^2 = (2-0)^2 + (-6-5)^2 h^2 = 2^2 + (-11)^2 h^2 = 4 + 121 h = sqrt of 124 approx 11.13
i got -4.2
1/5 of 11.13 = 2.227 so dist = 2.227 units along the line from point x
so -6 + 2.2 = -4.2... seems right, yep
thanks!!
