TRUR OR FALSE the range of y=Arccosx is (-pi/2,pi/2). @mathmale @Mertsj @ranga
false, the range is 0 to pi.
BigB: Please look for a graph of y=arccos x. You will see that the value of this function ranges from negative infinity to positive infinity. With this image in mind, try again to answer this question.
so its false?
Before I answer that, I'd like to understand your reasoning.
graphed it and it seemed false..
so @mathmale
what did you learn from the link I've shared with you? http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=y%3Dcot+x
nothing because idk why youre putting y=cotx @mathmale
Mea culpa. My mistake. My bad. Wrong function! Sorry. Have you found a site on the Internet where the graph of y=arccos x is displated?
I meant "displayed," not "displated."
Looking at the illustration I've posted, from wolframalpha.com, what can you learn about the domain and range of the function y=arccos x?
its -1 to 1? so its false?
@mathmale @Mertsj
Yes, it is false.
Good work. Hope you'll use the Internet often and well to find the info you need to solve problems like this one. wolframalpha.com is one of my favorite sites for that purpose.
@Mertsj can with a few others
@mathmale evaluate arccsc2. the choices are {pi/6, 5pi/6} , pi/3 , {pi/6+/-2pin,5pi/6+/-2pin} , {pi/3+/-2pin, 5pi/3+/-2pin}
if the csc is 2 then the sin is 1/2
so whats the answer?
What angle has 1/2 for its sin?
i think its the 3rd one but idk @Mertsj
Yes. Me too
