Can someone teach me about Stoichiometry?

OpenStudy (aayushi.somani):

yeah..! whats ur question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Im going to take my online quiz later and Im not sure if I can answer the questions well. Can I ask some questions later?

OpenStudy (aayushi.somani):

umm yeah..!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks! Maybe 10 mins from now :))

OpenStudy (aayushi.somani):

yeah ohk.! no problem..! if i would be online i'll shurely help u..! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Still there?

OpenStudy (aayushi.somani):

hmm yeah.! whats your ques?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Here :<

OpenStudy (aayushi.somani):

do u know how to solve these type of ques?i mean then i will direct u how to do this.!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Im not so good. Can you show me how?

OpenStudy (aayushi.somani):

firstly u gotto check from which compound u have to form the required product. so here in the ques it is given that from 100 g K2PtCl4 u have to find the mass of cisplatin .!

OpenStudy (aayushi.somani):

soo using the given equation find the amount of K2PtCl4 and K2PtCl4.. using their atomic mass..!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you solve it for me? So that I'll be having my pattern to the next type of question

OpenStudy (aayushi.somani):

yeah then what all u have to do i will tell u here-- In K2PtCl4-- atomic mass of k2-78g , Pt-195g , Cl4-142g soo for the compound--425 g in Pt(NH3)2Cl2--Pt-195 g , Cl-35.5, N-14g , H-1g so the mass of compound--300g

OpenStudy (aayushi.somani):

then in 300g of K2PtCl4-->425g of Pt(NH3)2Cl2 soo in 100 g of K2PtCl4--> 425/300*100

OpenStudy (aayushi.somani):

can u solve it now?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes yes. Thanksssss!

OpenStudy (aayushi.somani):

pleasure..!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How about for this question? What would be the possible formula?

OpenStudy (aayushi.somani):

the same should be done-- calculate the mass of CaO and CaCO3 here u have been given the mass of CaO and u have to calculate for CaCO3 soo it should be-- xg of CaO--> y g of CaCO3 soo 3.102g of CaO--> y/x*3.102

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So the answer would be 1.6 g?

OpenStudy (aayushi.somani):

i didnt calculate. but if u did by this method it should b correct..!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks. How to compute the mass of a given element if the percent composition of an element is given?
