Did I factor this polynomial correctly?
\[30x^2+76x+48\]\[30x^2+36x+40x+48\]\[6x(5x+6)+8(5x+6)\]\[(6x+8)(5x+6)\]
Yes, but you can go further. There is a GCF between x+8 so you have to factor that out for it to be fully factored.
Btaylor is saying factor a 2 out of (6x+8)
Would the problem produce a different result if Line 2 was written as... \[30x^2+40x+36x+48?\] Explain why or why not
No. You would factor out a 10x of the first two terms and a 12 out of the last two, and still have the GCF, though in a different term. Try it and see.
Okay, so the actual answer is 2(3x+4)(5x+6).
Yes. Nice work.
Yay. \o/ Thank-you. Hopefully that is the last question. (/)v(\)
you could use the formula -bplusminus squareroot (b^2 -4ac)/2a, (so a is 30, b is 76, and c is 48)
its called the quadratic formula
Thank you to all. :) And @monroiking : \(\Huge\bf Welcome~to~ \color{#00B4ff}{Open}\\ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~\Huge\bf\color{#7cc517}{Study~!!}~\)
