can someone help me answer this question please? an expression is shown below: 2x^3y+18xy-10x^2y-90y part a.) rewrite the expression so that the the GCF is factored completely.
the GCF is 2 so you will divide each of the coefficients by 2 2(x^3y +9xy-5x^2y -45y
sooo 2(x^3y +9xy-5x^2y -45y) would be new expression if the expression was factored completely?
yes
can you help me with part b and c?
@sleepyjess
yes
i will try at least
part b.) rewrite the expression completely factored show all the steps
part c.)if the two middle terms were switched the expression became 3x^3y-9x^2y+12xy-36ywould the factored expression no longer be equivalent to your answer in part b? explain resoning
i honestly don't completely remember how to factor 4 term polynomials but i think you have to do it by grouping if you know how to
@shamil98 ???
for a, the gcf is 2y not 2.
@shamil98 how would you answer part b and c?
2y(x^3 - 5x^2 + 9x - 45) just factor the trinomial in the parentheses.
how do you do that?
@shamil98
okay??? no reply????
@Luigi0210 ?
2y (x^3 - 5x^2 + 9x - 45) = 2y (x^2 + 9)(x - 5)
@texaschic101 can you explain?
