There are two terms so it's a binomial. The degree of the first term is 2 (count x and y). The degree of the second term is 3 (count x, y and z). The degree of the sum is the greatest of the degrees of the terms: 3.
3 degree trinomial. since there are three variables x, y and z. and degree is three. degree of any equation is highest sum of powers of variables. since above equation has second term 5xyz in which x has power 1, y has power 1 and z has power 1. so 1+1+1=3. but first term has only two. highest of both is 3.

wikipedia means to say two variables. see the example.. it is given. it has only taken a and b.
It does not. See example 3 at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trinomial. It says that \[3ts + 9t + 5s\] is a *trinomial* even though it's only got two variables.
