A compound is 1.52 g N and 3.47 g O. If its molar mass is 92 g/mol, what is its molecular formula?

OpenStudy (jfraser):

turn each of those masses into moles by dividing by the molar mass of N and O. then divide those moles by whichever is smaller, to get a small whole # ratio. compare that formula mass to the given molar mass, and multiply the formula by enough units so that the ratio remains the same, but the mass matches the molar mass
