Please help! If I have 10ml of 3.0M acetic acid what would the molarity be if its added to 90ml of H2O?

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

Hmm, find the amount of moles of acetic acid you have before you mix it with the H2O. Then, add the two volumes. Find the new molarity, keeping the same amount of moles of acetic acid.

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

\[Molarity (M) = \frac{ amount of moles }{ Volume (L) }\]

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

Be sure to convert mL to L.

that makes sense now thanks

OpenStudy (chmvijay):

M1V1=M2V2

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

^^ That's the real way to do it. Forgot about that lol.
