OpenStudy (aayushi.somani):

this is markonikov's orientation.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why?

OpenStudy (aayushi.somani):

Markovnikov Rule predicts the regiochemistry of HX addition to unsymmetrically substituted alkenes. The halide component of HX bonds preferentially at the more highly substituted carbon, whereas the hydrogen prefers the carbon which already contains more hydrogens.

but the Br attach to the less substituted in the picture

OpenStudy (anonymous):

less substituted carbon

OpenStudy (aayushi.somani):

umm yeah the anti markonikov's rule should follow.. but there is a mess in the question u wrote less highly reactive now what does that mean?
