The 1200-horsepower Bugatti accelerates from zero to 60 miles per hour in 2.5 seconds. This yields an average acceleration of 10.7 m/s squared. At this acceleration, how far will it travel from a stop in 10.0 seconds?

OpenStudy (jack1):

\[s = ut + \frac12 a t^2\] s = distance u = initial speed t = time a = acceleration

OpenStudy (jack1):

so in this case: s = distance = ??? u = initial speed = 0 (from a stop) t = time = 10 sec a = acceleration = 10.7 m/s so sub the above values into \[s = ut + \frac12 a t^2\] and solve for s

OpenStudy (jack1):

how did u go @jody999 ?
