cos^2 x simplifi _______ -1 = 1-sinx

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Hint: Use an important/common trig identity to write (cos x)^2 in terms of sin x.

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Look up "trig identities" and then look for \[\cos ^{2}x\]... You'll likely find the appropriate identity that way.

i cant understand

Do you have any kind of reference available? A textbook? Have you done internet searches before? What is your native language?

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Please see: http://www.purplemath.com/modules/idents.htm Look for the identity that involves (sin x)^2 + (cos x)^2 = 1. Rewrite that so that you have an expression for (cos x)^2.

yes of course... ..I will do it ..thanks a lot
