Someone please help :( A projectile is fired such that it starts and lands on level ground. Find the angle of elevation such that the maximum height of the projectile is equal to the horizontal range.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

will it would depend on how fast the projectile is moving and the distance traveled

To find an answer, you need to find an expression that describes a projectile that once fired, has an initial vertical velocity such that when the gravitational force acts on it, the amount of time it takes to go up and down is such that the horizontal velocity over that same time travels as far as it went up. Based on this, what are some expressions for what we know?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

max.height=horizontal range and let angle of elevation be A. [(U.sinA)^2]/2g=[U^2.sin2A]/g on solving we get tanA=4
