How long would it take a radio wave whose frequency is 7.25 x 10^5 Hz to travel from mars to earth if the distance between the two planets is approximately 8.00 x 10^7 km? The wavelength is not given.

OpenStudy (kc_kennylau):

Do you have the wavelength?

OpenStudy (kc_kennylau):

The frequency is useless lol, radio waves are electromagnetic waves which travel at the speed of light

OpenStudy (kc_kennylau):

Trolling at its best xD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am actually pretty good at physics.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

distance between the planets / the speed of light (300,000 km/second)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wtf... ^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@kc_kennylau I can't tell if this is a troll or not

OpenStudy (anonymous):

80000000 / 300000 = 266.67 seconds, or 4.44 minutes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you BeautifulMelodies!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is this a real, legitimate question????

OpenStudy (anonymous):

All light travels at the same speed in a vacuum: 300,000 km / second. The distance from the earth to the sun is 150,000,000 km. and the distance from mars to the sun is about 230,000,000 km. divide 80,000,000 and 380.000.000 by 300,000 I thought I should explain it to you more. Your welcome :)
