What are intermolecular forces (in simple terms)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

intermolecular forces are those forces that exist BETWEEN molecules, as the name implies. these include hydrogen bonds, dipole- dipole, dipole-induced-dipole, van der waals forces (londen dispersion forces), ion-dipole. just to name a few.

pretty much.

Thanks so much guys!! Regarding London dispersion forces, I had two questions: 1. What are London dispersion forces, in simple terms? 2. Which types of molecules form London dispersion forces? Thanks again, this is so helpful as I'm reading the chapter.
