Yes. 1/ the type of solvent: I hope you have heard about the fact that like dissolves like in your chemistry class. This means polar substances dissolve polar substances. The same thing happens to non-polar substances. Depending on the intermolecular forces between solvent molecules and solute molecules, the solubility can vary. 2/ temperature: in general, higher temperature => average kinetic energy increases => the speeds of molecules increase => the collide more often => the solvent dissolves faster
