How is the measurement unit, the mole, different from the measurement unit, the kilogram?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Molar Mass is a physical property. Its is defined as the mass of a given substance divided by its amount of substance. The SI unit for molar mass is kg/mol

OpenStudy (kainui):

Molar mass and a mole are two different things @Juggerz A mole is just a number, like a dozen is a number. You can have 3 mols of sulfuric acid and you can have 3 dozen eggs. It's just a number, well, a huge number. Kilogram is a measure of mass, which is in a sense how much matter something contains. The more mass you have, the heavier you weigh.
