Help please! Can someone explain the concept behind my experiment? I have 5 solutions all individually prepared with the same process. 10ml of bromocresol green and a solution that is diluted in a 50ml volumetric flask. the solutions are 1) 0.4 M HCl 2) 0.4 M NaOH 3) unknown 1 4) unknown 2 5) unknown 3 These solutions are placed in a cuvet and into a spectrophotometry machine to measure their absorbance at 445λ and 615λ. My teacher wants me to find the ɛbase and ɛacid of my unknown solutions along with the ɛacid for HCl and the ɛbase for NaOH. My teacher wants me to find the ɛbase and ɛacid of my unknown solutions along with the ɛacid for HCl and the ɛbase for NaOH. I know I have to use a simplified version of beers law A = ε*c -> E = A/C but I’m not sure how this would work for my unknown solutions when I don’t know the concentration. Any help is greatly appreciated..
