How many grams of Cl are in 535 g of CaCl2?

OpenStudy (lissiewalkin):

im not sure if this is the right answer but i think its 341.8 grams 535g CaCl2 X (1mol CaCl2/110.98g CaCl2) x (2molCl/1 molCaCl2) x (35.45g Cl/ 1mol Cl)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1 mole of CaCl2 = 2 moles of Cl m.weight of CaCl3=111 g/mol so, 111 g of CaCl2 = 2 X 35.5 = 71 g of Cl 535 g of CaCl2 = 71/111 X 535 = 342.2 g of Cl

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1:2 ratio Therefore you would have around 356.6 grams of Cl2 and 178.3 grams of Ca

Dont really think moles matter in this case, correct me if im wrong
