Find the interquartile range of the data. A. 49 B. 35 C. 16 D. 14 the graph is this 3 / 1 3 5 4 / 1 3 6 8 9 9 5 / 0 key: 4/6 equals 46

OpenStudy (mathmale):

If you like you could write out all the data in more familiar form: 31 33 35 ... 1. How many data points have you here? 2. Separate the left five data points (the five smallest ones) from the right five (the five largest ones). 3. Find the middle data point in each set of five. The midpoint ofthe left five data points is Q1, the first quartile. The midpoint of the right five is Q3, the third quartile. 4. Subtract Q1 from Q3. This difference is the IQR: interquartile range.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well what you need to know is that quartiles divide a data set into 4 equal part. the middle quartile is called to median. 1. find the median value in the stem and leaf plot 2. find the lower quartile or median of the lower half of the data 3. find the upper quartile or median of the upper half of the data. 4. the Interqartile range (IQR), IQR = Upper Quartile - Lower Quartile
