take the square root of the variance to get the standard deviation
what do you mean?
I would do the full decimal expansion then round when you're done
sqrt( 0.217857143 ) = 0.46675169308744 approximately
if you were rounding to 1 decimal place, then the std dev would be roughly 0.5
