What are the exponent rules when multiplying terms with variables?

\(\Huge\color{blue}{ \sf a^{b} \times a^{c}=a^{b+c} }\) for example \(\Huge\color{red}{ \sf 3^{4} \times 3^{2}=3^{4+2}=3^{6} }\) \(\Huge\color{blue}{ \sf a^{b} \div a^{c}=a^{b-c} }\) for example \(\Huge\color{red}{ \sf 4^{5} \div 4^{3}=4^{5-3}=4^{2} }\)

When your multiplying exponents, you just have to add the two together like @student_basil said. in the first red problem you you would add 4 and 2 to get an exponent. When dividing exponents, you have to subtract the two. So 5-3 is 2
