The image below shows two nitrogen atoms. For these two atoms to form a stable molecule, N2, how many electrons would have to be part of covalent bonds?

Six, I believe, since N2 is connected by a triple bond. Each bond is composed of two electrons shared by the two atoms, and so, when you have a triple bond, you'll have six. :)

Yeah, N2 has a total of 10 electrons. So you'll have 6 being shared (triple bonds). And one lone pair on each nitrogen. That'll satisfy the Octet Rule.
