OKAY I have been researching and all I can find about why all Brønsted acids can act as oxidizing agents is because the acidic proton can be reduced to hydrogen gas. Well that does not make sense to me! Can someone please explain to me how by having the acidic proton be reduced to hydrogen gas makes it an oxidizing agent? Thanks :)
