In need to know how to work out the problem- If 88.2cm cubed of a gas at 110 kPa changes it's pressure 745 torr, what is the volume of the gas at this pressure if the temperature remains constant? (Answer: 97.7cm cubed)

For this problem, you can use Boyle's Law: \[P _{1}V _{1} = P _{2}V_{2}\] Where P1 = initial pressure, V1 = initial volume, P2 = final pressure, and V2 = final volume. You can plug in P1, V1, and P2, and solve for V2. Don't forget to convert your units so that they are the same (both pressures should be in kPa or both should be torr)

OpenStudy (biokiiller396):

Can you tell me how to convert from kPa to torr or the other way around?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1 kPa = 7.501 torr

OpenStudy (biokiiller396):

Thanks :)

No problem :)
