what is the pH of 0.17M of KI

OpenStudy (abb0t):

KI is the salt of HI and since this is the case, the conjugate base: \(\sf\color{blue}{I^-}\), it can't hydrolyze in water, henceforth it cannot take away a proton from water to form a basic solution, hence, it's pH should be seven.

thanks! what about 0.18M CH3NH3I? @abb0t
