Does anyone have a summery for Alcohol in organic chemistry? Maybe a link of which explains the mechanism generally?

OpenStudy (kainui):

Well an alcohol by itself is just a functional group. It's simply a hydrogen attached to an oxygen attached to a carbon. |dw:1397993722264:dw| Here are some common examples.

Thanks but I was asking about questions regarding alcohol in Organic chemistry... Do you have some materials about that by ant chance?

OpenStudy (kainui):

This is organic chemistry... They're also considered weak acids. You'll have to ask a more specific question, like how are alcohols reduced/oxidized? How are they used in synthesis?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmmm I you do have a point. So, do you have any practice question for example from a test in OC that you can think about? And if you do, can you help with solution? Thanks! @Kainui

An alcohol is a carbohydrate molecule with one H replaced by OH. There are many different alcohols. Only Ethel alcohol is drinkable (two carbons) the others are all poisons.
