OpenStudy (anthonyn2121):

A rectangle has its base on the x-axis and its upper two vertices on the parabola y=12-x^2. What is the largest area the rectangle can have, and what are its dimensions?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I would say it is as large as the parabola is which is infinite so the area would be ∞ * ∞ = ∞^2

OpenStudy (anthonyn2121):

It says the base is on the x-axis, and the upper two vertices are on the parabola. So it can't be infinite.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but the parabola is infinitely large and so is the x axis
