a chemist needs 225 ml of 2.4 M HCl. what volume of 12 M HCl must be dissolved in water to form this solution?

Hey

OpenStudy (paki):

The formula used here is M1V1 = M2V2 M1 & M2 are molarities of different sol. V1 & V2 are volume of different sol. So, 225 * 2.4 = V2 12.0 => 225 * 2.4 ... .------------- = V2. Here V2 = final volume required to dissolve it. ... ..12.0 Thus 45 mL of water is the final volume, required. @alisha157
