OpenStudy (anonymous):

at the equivalence point of a strong acid- strong base titration, what is the approximate ph??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

7

OpenStudy (shiraz14):

@emade : @caters is correct - when a strong acid is titrated against a strong base, the resultant mixture is somewhat neutral (~pH7) although incomplete dissociation (of either acid or base) might still result in the measured empirical pH being slightly different from this.

OpenStudy (jfraser):

the equivalence point of SA\SB is always at a pH of 7, for the reason @shiraz14 gives. SA\WB or WA\SB will be higher or lower than 7, because of the conjugate species created, but a SA|SB titration is always equivalence at 7
