how do I find what the molecular mass of ammonium phosphate is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First what is ammonium phosphate? (NH4)3 PO4. Then look at a periodic table and look for the mass of N? it is the little number below the N on the table. 14 then mass of H. 1.01. here is where it gets interesting. There are 4 hydrogens so we multiply 1.01x4 now there is a bracket around NH4. as a subscript there is a 3 so we multiply NH4 by 3. ((1.01*4)+14)x3=54.12 then just mass P. 30.97+ mass O 16x4 so 54.12+30.97+(16x4)=149.09. Also to check your work you can look it up online. My number is spot on. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ammonium_phosphate
