find the general solution of the differential equation, dy/dx=1/(xy^2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

use seperation of variables...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the question becomes y^ (dy) =dx/x now integrate both sides...

OpenStudy (kainui):

All you have to do is get the x and y parts separated onto either side using a little bit of algebra. Treat the "dx" and "dy" as individual things and you are basically making two integrals to solve. for example, dy/dx=x will become dy=xdx and then integrate both sides to get y=.5x^2+C.
