what volume of air at standard pressure gets packed into an 11ft^3 scuba tank at the same temperature at 15.8 atmosphere

OpenStudy (jfraser):

use Boyle's Law\[P_1*V_1 = P_2*V_2\]

ok so I figured but I was not sure what was what in the equation.

OpenStudy (jfraser):

the pressure and volume of the tank go together, and the pressure and volume of the atmospheric air go together. Think of taking a huge roomful of air at 1atm (standard pressure) and compressing it into the scuba tank at 15.8atm

So isn't 1 atm 760 torr?

OpenStudy (jfraser):

it is
