how can you determine the state of an element at room temperature given melting and boiling point?
I don't know what you really mean, but I try (: Boiling point is the point (temperature) when the object is turning from liquid to gas form Melting point is the point (temperature) when the object is turning from solid to liquid form. So if the melting point is higher than the room temp, the object would be in solid form If the melting point is lower than the room temp, the object could be liquid or gas, you need to check the boiling point If the boiling point is lower than the room temp, the object is in gas form If the boiling point is higher than the room temp, it's in liquid form. -------------------------------> temperature increases solid - melting point - liquid - boiling point - gas
thanks so much, that was exactly what i meant :)
