Can someone explain what is entrophy and spontaneous concept...medal to give away..

OpenStudy (sweetburger):

entropy is just a measure of disorder the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics states that all things move to higher entropy that being if you run into a problem in which entropy decreases in the system there is a greater entropy increase in the surroundings than what is lost in the system so... the 2nd law of thermodynamics is always true

Let's go into Gibb's free energy. Well, this is the mathematic side of what sweet stated. The equation is G(determines spontineity)=ΔH-TΔS. Delta H is the change in heat energy. T is the temperature in kelvin, and S is the amount of entropy or disorder. A simply way of expressing entropy is that everything will fall into chaos. Now let's focus on G. If G is positive, the reaction is not spontaneous. However, if G is negative, the reaction IS spontaneous. Hope that helps a little!
