how do you convert mole to molecule to ions ? I have 10 moles of HCl . how many ions of H+ and how many Cl-?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\color{green}{ \text{HCl} \longrightarrow \text{H}^+ + \text{Cl}^-}\] Each molecule dissociates into one of each ion. so the number of moles of ions is the same as the number of moles of HCl, 10 moles. Now, you want to find the number of ions, so multiply the number of moles by Avogadro's constant. So, all you need to do here is to convert the number of moles of HCl to the number of molecules of HCl. The number of ions will be the same as the number of molecules because each molecule forms one of each type of ion.
