how do you find the specific heat?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you give me more info? There's a couple way that you can do it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

any way to do it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if you know the total heat, the mass, and the change in temperature, you can figure it out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

since q=mc delta (T)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

isolating c will give you the answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

another thing that you can do is to look at the equipartition theorem (this is college stuff so if you're in high school chem or even AP chem, then you don't have to learn this yet)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wow thanks

You can use this triangle in order to find specific heat. You'll just have to write your given (m, tf, ti, cp, q) and then you'll just have to cover the unit that is not given on the problem (what you're missing) :)
