Help me with chemistry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A certain dye absorbs light of certain wavelength and then fluorescence- light of wavelength 500 A . Assuming the under given conditions , 50 % of the absorbed energy is re-emitted out as fluorescence and the ratio of the number of quanta emitted out to the number of quanta absorbed is 5:8, find the wavelength of absorbed light (in A) ?

@mathslover I figured out the answer to this problem. If you want any help with chemistry let me know i will help you!

mathslover (mathslover):

Thanks for that OpenStudier. I will surely notify you if I need help.

one quanta of light is given by \( h \nu \) use the principle of conservation of energy, \( n_1 h \nu_1 = n_2 h \nu_2 \) find the frequency from above equation. and Don't tag me in Chemistry, I haven't studied chemistry is part eight yrs.
