OpenStudy (secret-ninja):

The difference between the states of matter is the behavior and arrangement of the atoms or compounds. Describe the behavior and arrangement of a Solid - Liquid - Gas –

OpenStudy (cydney_morgan):

Well, For a solid, the particles are packed and condensed. Kind of like this:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a particle in a solid will move according to the mass's temperature but will be drawn closely by other particles and have restricted movement which explains why if you get hit in the leg with a brick it bounces off but if it were a liquid like water thats splashed on your leg the particles are bonded tightly but not as tightly as a solids but neither as loosely as a gas's and the water would partly bounce back but mostly move around your leg. and a gas's particles are extremely loosely held together and can be separated easierly(and i know this isnt a word). also a solid cannot be compressed in most cases where as a liquid can to a certain degree and a gas can be compressed alot. (hope this helps im not this smart tho)*cheater*
