http://www.avon-chemistry.com/ch9_chart11.jpg If you look at this chart, the higher the metal the stronger reducing agent it is, the lower, the better oxidizing agent it is, each metals can reduce the cations of metals below it in its orinal form which means Cu is stronger than Al S weaker than I2 ( what I said up here only apply to metals not to this) and F 2 stronger than Li since Li is the stronger reducing agent You might want to take a look at this page: http://antoine.frostburg.edu/chem/senese/101/redox/faq/activity-series.shtml
