Elementary charge, e = 1.6x10-19 C. Ni nuclear radius = 4x10-15 m. Ni atomic number = 28. Ni mass = 9.7x10-26 kg. a) An accelerator accelerates Ni10+ ions through a total potential difference of 6.4 MV. What is the kinetic energy of an ion once it leaves the accelerator?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The Change in kinetic energy is equal to charge times potential difference \[\Delta KE = e \times V\]

If 10 electrons are removed from Ni it will have 18 electrons. So e = 18 * 1.6 x 10-19 C.
