The correlation coefficient tells you how close the data is to being linear, so a 1 tells you that you have a line if you connected all the dots, a 0 would just be equally spread out

Correlation coefficients can tell you if data is related as if two variables increase in specific ways, although you should never assume causation just because you get a high correlation

depending on what type of regression analysis you do Regression analysis is simply just a way of modeling data, correlation coefficents can help to stress how good that model is.

For the second question Graph z scores use linear regression you should be able to figure it out how to do it on youtube type in using linear regression on a scatter plot "Software name"

Correlation is how well the data relates, when you increase something by 1 does the other variable always increase by a fixed value Regression is using the data to generate a model that can be used to make predictions so basically it is just a formula for the graph Correlation tells you how well that formula models the data

Well I'm not in your class I would just graph the Zx and Zy values and generate a formula from that for a line, I may not be correct though it has been quite some time since I have had to do this

You could just Graph X and Y and then perform linear regression which will give you a forumla that you can sub into the Z score formula

y = mx + b These software can give you that information or you can calculate it manually which takes way longer

I have read it over and over again. It doesn't make sense to me. It there was an equation I'm sure I could do the equation, but I don't know which to use. I have one hour to turn it in because I have to leave for work and I haven't even gotten ready for that So sorry I am a little worried about this and annoyed that it won't make sense.

It's an online class. I have to turn it in, in less then an hour. I have emailed her and she just keeps saying watch the video or read the books, but absolutely not one thing is making sense to me.

Do you understand what correlation coefficents are? I would recommend scrolling up and writing out the definitions I gave you it is just how well data fits to a line. Regression analysis -> a fancy way to say using data to predict similar data. So from grade school we had the formula for a line, y = mx + b m = slope it tells you how much x changes in regards to y b = the y intercept it is just where the line crosses y This is linear regression because you can take a bunch of data generate that equation above from it and then just sub a value of x into that equation to get a value of y that would match up with the graph.

You can see how these two things relate because if you have a bunch of data with a low correlation coefficent (meaning it doesnt really resemble a line much) then your y = mx+b formula wont be too close to reality

I havent calculated Z score in forever but that doesnt look correct, I dont know what to tell you be careful of plagiarism a few marks isnt worth the chance of blemishing your record. Anyways I have work to do take care and good luck.
