OpenStudy (anonymous):

Carbon-11 decays by positron emission. The decay occurs with a release of 2.87e11 J/mol oc carbon-11. When 4.00g of carbon-11 undergoes this radioactive decay, _ g of mass is converted to energy. The answer is 1.16e-3 but I don't know how to work the problem.

OpenStudy (aaronq):

Convert the mass of carbon to moles, then multiply the moles by the energy value given.
