|z-i| = 3 defines a circle in the complex plane, find radius and centre.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know the radius is 3, not sure how to find the centre though

OpenStudy (aonz):

There is formula :P well basically you treat the x as real and y as imaginary |z-(0x + i)| therefore centre is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:o 0,1?

OpenStudy (aonz):

yea lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wow that was easy..lol thx

OpenStudy (anonymous):

whats the formula btw?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

z=x+iy

OpenStudy (aonz):

Errrr...... Nvm bout that haha. well z= x + yi so |(x-0)+i(y-1)| Now you can clearly see its (0,1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

continue lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:o ok. ty

OpenStudy (anonymous):

np :) i would like to see the rest of complex analysis Qn :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

o, thats it... it was a short question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

xD ok lol good luck !
